University of Economics, Prague (UEP)


The University of Economics, Prague (UEP) with its 20,000 students and a 60-year-old-history is the biggest public university of economics in the Czech Republic. The university is highly appraised both in the Czech Republic and abroad, ranked 2nd in the Eduniversal Eastern Europe’s best universities list. UEP is certified with the “ECTS label” and “DS Label” by the European Commission thanks to implementation of the ECTS credit system. The university currently cooperates with more than 200 partner universities on four different continents and with key players from the private sector in the Czech Republic. UEP participates in several international networks, such as CEMS, PIM and EPAS, and also offers joint study programs. Many significant Czech and foreign economists have obtained the university’s honoris causa title; these include, for instance, t and  Nobel Prize winners Prof. Robert A. Mundell, Prof. Milton Friedman, or Prof. Gary S. Becker. Two Presidents of the Czech Republic, several prime ministers and many prominent Czech economists are alumni of the University of Economics, Prague. UEP issues 2 journals, registered in SSCI Thomson Reuters, and numerous peer-reviewed journals.

Faculty of International Relations (FIR)


The Faculty of International Relations of the University of Economics, Prague, was founded in 1991 as a successor of the original Faculty of Commerce. Nowadays the Faculty has 250 pedagogues and 4,500 students and belongs to the largest at UEP, offering a range of Czech and English study programs. In 2012, FIR was the first in the Czech Republic to receive the EPAS (EMFD) international accreditation, placing it among 70 accredited management faculties / universities in the world. The FBA’s Economics of Globalization and European Integration (EGEI) study program was selected by the European Commission to be funded from the Erasmus Mundus program. FIR has two peer-review journals.

Faculty of Business Adminsitration (FBA)


The Faculty of Business Adminsitration of the University of Economics, Prague, is among the most respected schools in the Central and Eastern Europe in the field of management, with a range of Czech, English and Russian study programs offered to 3,500 students. The FBA’s two study programs, International Management (CEMS MIM) and Business Economics and Management, are part of the prestigious global Financial Times Ranking for business education (in 2013 CEMS MIM was ranked as 5th). The faculty provides an MBA program accredited by FIBAA (Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation), being on par with MBA programs in Western Europe. FBA’s educational and research activities are linked to the business sector based on partnership with companies, including Metrostav, Plzeňský Prazdroj, Škoda Auto, Crocodille ČR, Pricewaterhouse-Coopers Czech Republic, L’Oréal Czech Republic and Česká spořitelna.

University of Economics in Bratislava (UEBA)


The University of Economics in Bratislava (UEBA) is nowadays considered one of the most important educational and scientific-research institutions in the Slovak Republic. The UEBA is a public Higher Education Institution focusing on Economics, Business, and Management. It provides higher education in Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctoral programs for full-time and part-time students. On the basis of the comprehensive accreditation of Higher Education Institutions in the Slovak Republic, which took place in the years 2008-2009 in compliance with the Act on Higher Education, the UEBA was included in the highest category of HEIs in the Slovak Republic, among “Higher Education Institutions of University Type”. The University is located in Bratislava, the capital and largest city of the Slovak Republic.

Faculty of Commerce (FC)


The Faculty of Commerce of the University of Economics in Bratislava provides education in trade-related scientific disciplines. With regard to its external environment the FC is a flexibly linked, complex institution with study programs resulting from international comparison; high-quality professional background and staff; own publications, professional translations, practical case studies and infrastructure; with reputation in the business community as well as prestige in international relations in compliance with criteria adopted by the Accreditation Board of the Government of the Slovak Republic. The mission of the FC in line with its Statute is to provide high-quality education in business and economics and to train highly-qualified professionals in the field of marketing, trade, tourism, hospitality industry, services, business law, commercial entrepreneurship, product quality management as well as international business activities able to establish themselves and succeed on the labour market in the region and in the European and international environment.
