Abstract: The development of digital technologies and the rise of the collaborative economy over the past decade have fundamentally redefined the global tourism market. Online platforms for short-term accommodation are no longer merely a marginal alternative, but have become an established competitor to traditional hospitality, creating the need for systematic monitoring. The aim of this paper is to evaluate the growth dynamics and market penetration of digital accommodation platforms in the Visegrad countries between 2018 and 2024. Utilizing a quantitative comparative approach based on harmonized secondary data from Eurostat, the study employs index analysis and market share assessments to identify regional recovery trajectories following the COVID-19 pandemic. The findings demonstrate a shift in consumer behavior and confirm the increasing share of digital platforms in total overnight stays in the examined destinations. The conclusions provide valuable insights into the transformation of the accommodation sector and can serve as a basis for strategic planning.
